Here’s just some of the activities Beavers have enjoyed during this session Autumn 2009- Summer 2010….

The District Bag a Badge Day was fantastic and well attended by four of the South Western Beaver Sections.  Well done Mandie for organising this.  To learn more about badges visit the scout website .

Some of the visitors to 2nd Glasgow Beavers included Fiddle & Voice – Scottish musicians who performed for the Beavers then taught them how to play a few of their instruments.

And a visit from local author Sadia Sheikh who led an imaginative workshop followed by some story telling.

We also had a visit from a former RAF pilot who shared his flying experiences and helped the kids gain the Air Activity Badge.

In January we headed up to Auchengillan with other groups from the South Western for a fun filled day of scavenger hunting, dam building, fun and games.

In February Beavers were climbing walls at the 30th.

In March we went to St Mungos to hear some fascinating stories and see, touch and try out some great artefacts.

In May some of the Beavers went to Kelvingrove Park to take part in a sponsored WeeWalk to raise money for Wild Hearts.  It’s not too late to sponsor them so click the picture to go to the website.

Our first summer trip was to Scotland Street School Museum where we experienced a WWII classroom and had fun with traditional playground games.

Our second summer trip was to People’s Palace where we got a glimpse at what life was like for people living in Glasgows past times.
